On the other hand, a dedicated server would be a great plan to have, but unless you have the hundreds of dollars a month to invest on it, its more of a dream than a reality. Let’s be positive and assume your Pligg powered website will be successful and get a steady traffic stream, the one thing that will kill your chances of success is a slow website.  Just because the hosting package is cheap, doesn’t mean it wil be good or bad.

Tip: a VPS is probably the worse investment, as it doesn’t give you any more speed than a regular hosting package.

There aren’t many hosting companies that cannot host Pligg, as long as it has PHP4 (preferrably PHP5) and mySQL your set.

Hosting starts as low as $11/year, though you may want to use a more expensive package for hosting Pligg, they have one for $22/year that would do fine.

I may purchase a reseller package and host a few sites on it due to the low prices.

Need a new design, they offer designing starting at $249, maybe not the best approach for a small Pligg site, but if you want to run a Pligg install that stands a shot at competing with Mixx etc…, maybe worth a look.

Here’s one service I have asked for some information on, graphic design.  I have 2 websites that are in need of a good logo and that just isn’t my specialiaty.
