Mystique is another fantastic design from the folks at Digital Nature, it is built for the latest build of Pligg and is one of the best layouts we have seen thusfar.

A couple of weeks ago we released a theme called Pliggie for the Pligg v9.9.5, since then we have had requests for it to be converted to Social Web CMS.  We have finally finished doing so.

One of the issues we had was the default category manager in SWCMS, it was preventing our categories from displaying properly which is one of the biggest  features of this theme.  We ended up using a module from SWCMS that is an advanced category manager released by Nick Ramsay.  We have included the module in the download.

Also included is another module by our friend Nick Ramsay that took our original suckerfish category bar and made it easier to implement via the module manager.

I recommend using the two modules included in the download, it will make your life easier, trust me.

Our latest template is a joint project with our friends over at Hein Maas, a fantastic graphic designer.

The theme is called SocialCom, short for Social Community, and is another 2 column layout.

SWCMS is a fork of Pligg, spear headed by a former developer of Pligg, Ash. It’s basically identical to Pligg with some code changes that Pligg for whatever reason was unable to adopt to make their script more secure.

SWCMS also has created many new modules and hacks that have yet to make their way to Pligg.

We are a supporter of SWCMS and therefore have created a theme for it.

We have added Adsense to the header, all you need to do is change the ad code to your own.  We have also added 4 ad spots to the sidebar, each sized 125×125, thanks to ganha for the advice on that one.

Once downloaded you must do the following:

• Since Pliggie uses the default name of yget, please backup your existing yget folder in case you need to revert.
• Go to your admin panel, then modules, and activate the sidebar stats mod.
• Upload the sidebar stats module included in the download above.
• Upload menu.php to your root directory

I have been busy the last day or so working on my next template for Pligg v9.9.5.

It’s your standard 2 column layout with the sidebar on the right.  My colors this time are blue, grey, black and white.  I think it’s a clean layout with great potential.

I have added at the top of the sidebar stats showing your member count and total number of submission, this will definitely encourage potential members especially as your counts get higher.  This can easily be hidden until your counts increase.

I have also added an ad block to the sidebar that is not your conventional size, but seems to be growing in popularity, each ad is sized 150px by 70px and is setup to show 2 rows of 2.  Again, this can easily be changed to whatever size you wish to use, or you can swap out the smaller ad blocks for one large one.

Each submission has been given a hover effect on mouseover, just for design effect.

Perhaps the biggest draw with this template is the suckerfish menu in the header for your categories.

All internal links are located in the header above the site name/logo, this can be changed depending on your preferrence.  The menu has been given a nice clean look with simple hovers.

I still need to work on the footer and a few other small details.

I also have a couple other features I am trying to implement, but will keep those to myself for now.

UPDATE:

Ok, I have changed the ad sizes to a more standard size of 125×125, but I kept the same number of ads of 4 in a 2×2 format.

I have also added the multi-column footer that I hadn’t gotten to, I currently have it set to 4 columns, this can easily be changed.

Its been a couple of weeks since our last Pligg template release.  Half way through the design of this template, I realized it looked a lot like ‘EntreCard’, but this was not my intent.

It’s a standard 2 column layout with orange and black being the dominant colours.

With our latest template we set out to create a fully ajaxed Pligg template. 

This however, did not pan out.  We will someday produce such a template and of course for free.

So we named this one aJack, as there is one feature that is similar to ajax, the story summary on the published/unpublished pages isn’t shown unless a link is clicked to make it appear.

This is a standard 2 column template, with blue, black and grey as it’s main colours.

My latest templates is called Pliggblogs. It is compatible with Pligg 9.9.5 and my new baby, Social Web CMS.

Its a 2 column templates with custom icons added. The published and unpublished pages are minimalized meaning there is no description displayed, you can easily alter this if you want by removing an “if” statement in the link_summary.tpl file.
