FoxieWire? eBenta?

FoxieWire? eBenta?

Back on April 22nd I invited anyone with a Pligg powered website to submit it for review. Thusfar, only 2 websites have done so. Both of these sites have made it very challenging to decide which is better.

Lets get to them, they are listed in order of submission.

FoxieWire:

FoxieWire

Design (8/10): the design is good, but it uses the typical Pligg layout. Color choices are good and make reading and extended viewing easy on the eyes.

Content (10/10): the content is definitely valuable and matches the websites theme, which is Firefox and anything Mozilla.

Navigation (8/10): again uses the typical Pligg navigation methods and locations, therefore making navigation easy.

Errors (6/10): I wasn’t able to find any scripting errors that effected the general operation and use of the website aside from the numerous HTML errors. The HTML errors do result in some layout issues on certain pages which do effect browsing. For example, the footer disappears on individual story pages, the login page has the footer being partially covered by the sidebar, as does the register page, as well as the Live (spy) page, sitemap and tag cloud pages.

Overall (8/10): FoxieWire has done a fantastic job on the backend of the website, with their countless number of tools, from onsite submit buttons, to toolbars and their Spread Fire Fox group page. Load times were quick, at an average of 1.5 seconds per page.

eBenta:

Design (9/10): this website has that eye candy you look for in a website. The layout is unique and not 100% typical of a Pligg install. The footer has an informative clean look to it, with website data also found there. The story pages have a unique look and features that are not typical of a Pligg install and again is cleanly laid out.

Content (10/10): again, all content appears to be related o the theme of the install which is technology and entertainment news.

Navigation (10/10): I had no problem finding anything on the website, navigation is well done and laid out uniquely and cleanly.

Errors (9/10): I wasn’t able to find any scripting errors that effected the general operation and use of the website, the layout stayed consistant throughout. However, this site does have twice as many HTML errors as FoxieWire and could be contributing to the lack of speed, each page took on average 30+ seconds to load, this could turn users/members off.

Overall (9.5/10): I liked this one best, mainly for the eye appeal and creativeness of the layout and features displayed.

This was a tough call, but I have chosen eBenta.com as the top Pligg powered website submitted to Pliggs.com thusfar. I will display a 125×125 banner in my sidebar for 30 days as promised.

Please keep adding websites to the original post, in two weeks we will do it all over again. When submitting, please provide a banner sized 125×125 in case you are chosen as winner.
