Not So Open-Source Pligg

My good friend LincolnHawks over at SocialCMSBuzz has alerted me to a disturbing but not surprising move by Pligg.
They are withholding all news and information regarding the next version of Pligg and they even secretively moved the SVN so members and contributors can’t see what the changes are.
Open development of the extremely popular Pligg has pretty well dried up with the exceptions of the mods/hacks that members are creating and contributing, we now know why, all of the developers are working behind the scenes on a new version, well maybe.
SocialCMSBuzz has a conversation between a member and a “developer” on his blog and I encourage you to check it out.
This type of behaviour will only hurt Pligg in the long run.
I can’t imagine other open source software developers like WordPress, phpBB etc…, doing this to their members, seems like a real slap in the face to me.
What are your thoughts on this?
