Look out, here comes a rant! You’ve been warned.

Two days ago I visited several Pligg powered websites and contacted the webmasters of each inviting them to check out my new blog and list their website in my directory for FREE.

This apparently, is taboo. Apparently there are some webmasters who are either extremely sensitive or stupid, they know which one they are.

More background information before I go on, a developer for Pligg named chuckroast also runs a Pligg directory. Now, last year when I registered this domain name and started my own directory I took heat from a couple developers for it, since there was already one going. Apparently one directory is all that is needed, therefore, I guess all these search engines we have and thousands of directories on the web, should just close up.

chuckroast and I started out fine, even linking back to each other, I made the mistake of putting every Pligg site listed on his site on mine, I also used the same images as him thinking they were submitted by the individual websites. turns out the images were made by chuckroast and he wasn’t too happy and I wouldn’t be either, so I pulled the directory in an attempt to make amends. Well, chuckroast would have nothing to do with that, even after explaining myself and pulling my directory offline, that wasn’t good enough. Oh well, get over it when you grow up.

Now, back to this weeks drama. According to chuckroast, the recipient of one of my emails I sent to some Pligg webmasters, there were dozens of complaints from other webmasters saying I was spamming them. Therefore, I was banned from the Pligg forums.

Now, I like most blog owners/webmasters, get emails all the time from people asking for link exchanges or people inviting me to checkout their website. Apparently, I/we all should be losing our minds, on the brink of tears even, about getting these emails.

Give me a break. Now, remember, I didn’t use the PM service on the Pligg forum, nor did I go through the section on the forum that people list their website and get a list of urls and then visit each one. In fact, the Pligg forums had nothing to do with this except for the fact a developer who has not grown up yet and needs to be vindictive received one of my requests.

I don’t believe for one minute there were complaints from other webmasters, but if there was, umm…sorry? NOT! Grow up, if you don’t get emails from fellow webmasters asking for link exchanges or trying to spread news then you shouldn’t have a website. Instead of complaining to a forum who has nothing to do with it, theres a button in your email client labeled, “Reply“, hit it next time and tell the sender that his email and put you on the brink of a breakdown and you now need metal help and to stop sending you emails. Or better yet, theres another button there labeled “Spam“, hit that one so you won’t receive an email from that person again.

WOW! That was easy. But sadly, people forget that when they were on the forums asking for help or using my mods/hacks and doing it for free like everyone else on the forum they were my best friend, but when I send them a simple email using the contact form they have posted on their website, all of a sudden I’m the devil.

Since I was banned, chuckroast has posted an inflammatory post on the forums about me, again showing his immaturity, insecurity or maybe its just hes power tripping, but thats the worse part, people who emailed me showing their support, and are still nice to my face, have decided to go along with chuckroast’s crusade to have me banished to some deserted island never to be seen by mankind again. The same people I have helped in the past, I guess thats their way of saying thanks.

Thanks to the members who have stuck up for me, I appreciate it.

Gasp! The horror.

This was chuckroasts way of getting rid of me from the forums, plain and simple.

I would love to hear your comments, maybe I am wrong. Told you I was going to rant.
