Video Convertor software

I am on the prowl for a decent all in one video conversion software package.  I want to be able to do the following with it:

  • convert videos to mpg format
  • allow for editing of videos
  • video compression
  • video capture (a must)
  • grab image from video

I was able to find one that can do all of this over at Blaze Media Pro, it has the above feature plus some additional ones like.

The one format I forgot about was .flv, which would probably be best for use on the internet. It video converter does support .flv luckily.

It also comes with a video encoder not sure whether I would need this or not. I am going to be posting the videos online, so if anyone knows whether that is important or not, let me know.

Check out their screenshot page for software previews, it has a plain interface, but appears to be a good find.

I would love your comments, impressions and suggestions on other software that would fit the bill.

  • Prism is one of the most stable and comprehensive video converters available and it is very easy to use. But if you don't believe us, try it for yourself. Just add the files you want to convert to the list, select the format you want to use, and then click the convert button.
  • This is really good video converter. I will bookmark it. Thanks for good information.
  • Yes, Sire is right. Cyberlink PD has worked for me too, but if there's anything else out there with a better UI, I'm game.

  • I use Cyberlink PowerDirector and found it pretty good for my needs.
